Team Role/Function: Runner
How did you become a Castaway? Being in Mr. Pino's class as a freshman, we were introduced to the Castaways early on. I always thought it was a great cause, but had no way of participating as a student. Finally, in connecting with Gaston, I found out there was a running portion and I immediately jumped at the opportunity.
Why are you a Castaway? My grandparents lost the battle to different types of cancer. I do this for them and for those who are currently in the fight. God's blessed me with health and the ability to run, so I will suffer for a few days in honor of them.
What is your "essential gear" to be a good Castaway? Running shoes.
My Family: Married to my wife, Lizzie Fernandez and we've been together since senior year of high school. We also have a 2 year old, Javi!

The mission of the Castaways mission is to help fund cancer research and honor those who've fought the fight. How do you (plan to) do that? Spreading awareness of who the Castaways are and what we do for cancer research.
