In loving memory of Tyrone “Ty” Hidalgo-Gato - an exemplary father, husband, man, and friend. Ty showed us all, by example, how to be completely present in every moment. To appreciate life, and always put forth your very best - do it right, or don’t do it at all.
He dove head-first into his passions, and always made it a point to bring his family along - sharing his love for the outdoors, Jeeps & Cadillacs, golf, and more with his wife and daughter - whether they liked it or not.
Ty battled Renal Cell Carcinoma for over 10 years, ruthlessly fighting while maintaining incredible optimism and a positive attitude few people could muster in such a situation.

The Castaways Against Cancer is a group of cancer fighters, proudly including Jorge Bustamante, that paddle and cycle 160 miles from Miami to Key West over 7 days. Their mission is to fund cancer research and honor those who have fought the fight. The donations the Castaways receive this year are being matched by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Research Center which is a Miami based hospital.
